ANKARA, July 3 (Xinhua) -- Japanese left back Yuto Nagatomo will leave Galatasaray at the end of his contract, The Turkish Super Lig side confirmed on Thursday.

"Thank you for my amazing friends. I will never forget you. Good luck guys," Nagatomo said on twitter.

The former Inter Milan captain moved from Italy to Galatasaray on loan in January 2018 and completed a transfer six months later, scoring one goal in 21 games across all competitions this season.

The Turkish powerhouse shared a video with his coach and teammates' warm and cordial farewell messages on twitter in appreciation of Nagatomo's effort.

The 34-year-old defender has been capped 122 times for the Japanese national team, including appearances at the 2010, 2014 and 2018 World Cups.
