SARAJEVO, June 2 (Xinhua) -- Edin Dzeko, the captain of the Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) national football team and Italy's Roma, expressed strong support for black Americans on Tuesday.

"We are together and today we kneel in support of Black Lives Matter," Dzeko stated on Instagram. At the same time, he posted a photo, in which Dzeko and his teammates knelt in a row on the grass at the training ground.

Protests over the death of George Floyd, an African American who died after Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin kept kneeling on his neck for almost nine minutes, have been going on in America for a week now.

Dzeko and his teammates emphasized that African Americans are valued and should have equal rights.
