DETROIT, Michigan - Italy is in for a new experience in dining.
Domino's Pizza CEO Patrick Doyle has promised to take the famous pizza to the country where it was born.
Optimistic about the possibility, Doyle has said there is likely to be scepticism about a Domino's pizza recipe being translated into Italian tastes, however, he said, the company would concentrate on the delivery side of the equation.
He said Domino's was likely to have an advantage in a country where pizza is usually consumed at point of sale.
He said: "There's a lot of pizza, but there's not a lot of delivered pizza."
Domino's, based in Michigan, has moved into overseas markets in a big way. It currently has around 6,000 international locations.
The company has continued to revamp its recipes since some leaner years when there were complaints about its food and service.
Sales are now extremely positive with the company highlighting its pizza-making process.
