I don’t think so!

Gays and their supporters are fully authorized by democratic norms to express themselves as a community. Those who physically attack them ignore the very same norms, and give further proof of the very justifiability of gay people taking to the streets with their claims.

Threatened with death for taking a walk

If that is the case (that people should keep their opinions to themselves) then the gay pride march should have been a safe place to be. I was in the march myself. It was the first time for me to do anything like this and I was so struck by the absurdity of the intense rage being directed at us when all we were doing was *walking*. Nothing threatening, violent, or anything was coming from the marchers side, but even just passers-by were moved to screaming rage. It was quite a sight to see — such hatred! How must it be like to live your life filled with such hatred!!
